Bubba is a very social pony and makes human and equine friends wherever she goes. She is very adaptable, and has proved that she can fit into any routine, or lack of, quickly and easily - is happy to be left alone. She can sweat the small stuff but is very loving and enjoys one on one attention. Will stand to be groomed and fussed, and takes good care when children are around. She has lived in and out, although I have never had her out 24/7 over winter.

Maximum weight this horse can carry
65 kg
Is the horse in work?
No but could be brought back into work (Bubba has been in and out of work over the past few months due to health issues and my personal circumstances. She is a diagnosed headshaker, however I have found this to be seasonal/periodic and there are times when it is barely noticeable. In addition)

  • Most suitable home and loanee/owner/sharer

I have considered retiring Bubba due to headshaking, however during the periods when it doesn't bother her she still has lots to give. She loves to jump, and whilst can have the occasional 'leaf spook' she is very safe out hacking, and is not bothered by farm machinery etc. Will hack alone or in company. In my dreams Bubba will find a knowledgeable home with a fairly slow pace of life that will not put legs or feet under too much pressure but where she can enjoy some ridden work & make lots of friends

Relevant health or lameness issues

As described above Bubba is a diagnosed headshaker. This seems to be seasonal and other than nose nets/supplements etc I have not treated. She does not shake when not ridden at all. This would be an insurance exemption She has also been treated for laminitis. This was mild. EMS negative and currently normal. In addition she has had lameness examinations for hind leg bilateral lameness. This was resolved through physio. Never severe enough for blocks etc. No insurance claim.

Veterinary examinations or treatment given in the past 12 months

Laminitis and headshaking as described above.

Please describe your horses behaviour in traffic

Good in traffic and farm machinery etc.

Please describe your horses behaviour when hacking out alone and in company

Hacks alone and in company.

Details of any individual behavioural traits which may influence the type of person best suited to take on the horse

I believe that a knowledgeable home will be necessary for Bubba. Her health issues should be easily managed leaving her more than capable of ridden work as well as a companion.

Details of the activities that the horse must not participate in due to previous injury

Bubba loves to jump, however I believe she just needs a slower pace of life all round.

Explanation whether this horse is simply a good doer or whether he is prone to laminitis

Bubba had some mild laminitis this summer and became very foot sore. She loves her food! As a precaution, at certain times I believe that grass should be limited. X-rays show hoofs are currently in good shape.

Details of any problems when being ridden

No rearing or napping at all. Has done the ocassional small buck on canter transition but barely noticeable.

Horse vaccinated annually for flu and tetanus

Need to be stabled at night?
