Fallon has had a rough time. She had severe behavioural problems which transpired to be Kissing spines. She had surgery (big snip) then was turned away for a year. Fallon has been in full work now for a full year and has shown none of the previous behaviour. She has been doing varied work including hacking, schooling and a few small jumps with no ill effects

  • Most suitable home and loanee/owner/sharer

Please describe your horses behaviour in traffic

Good in traffic but can be a little spooky about things on the sides of the road

Please describe your horses behaviour when hacking out alone and in company

Good alone if rider confident and patient. Needs to be allowed to look if worried by something. If she is bullied or forced then she will spin away. Same in company but will follow another horse past things willingly. Can have a small buck in canter and occasionally a bit fussy with her head

Details of any individual behavioural traits which may influence the type of person best suited to take on the horse

She was aggressively "trained" when her behaviour was bad before it was discovered as pain. This caused her to become very defensive and she would rear and spin. In the last year I have seen none of this behaviour but if a rider was to get tough with her, she may well return to this behaviour. She needs a calm but focused rider who can work with her. She needs to believe the rider has her best interests at heart so would not suit a nervous/novice rider

Details of the activities that the horse must not participate in due to previous injury

No

Explanation whether this horse is simply a good doer or whether he is prone to laminitis

Good doer

Details of any problems when being ridden

As previously mentioned, she can have a little buck cantering g in company but easily stopped by keeping her head up. Has history of rearing but not since being brought back into work in may 2019

Horse vaccinated annually for flu and tetanus

Yes

Need to be stabled at night?

No he can live out all year round

Need to be put on restricted grazing to limit weight gain?

Yes
