Honey is a lovely mare with a great temperament. She is a great herd leader and has done a fantastic job of nannying our younger ponies and keeping them in check! Although Honey is not to be ridden, she is good to lunge and long rein (although not done much for a while!) has done some horse agility which she was brilliant at, and has started clicker training. She is a bright intelligent horse who still likes to work but just not in the conventional way, but at the same time she is quite happy eating grass!

  • Most suitable home and loanee/owner/sharer

A suitable home would be someone for a bit more time for Honey that could spend some quality time with her. While she's quite happy just being a companion I'd like her to go somewhere she will get more attention than just being in a field. Someone interested in classical groundwork, or horse agility would be fantastic and even showing in-hand! but not essential! A good home where Honey can be enjoyed for what she is, is all we want for her.

Details of any individual behavioural traits which may influence the type of person best suited to take on the horse

Honey can be a flighty and tense animal in certain situations. She is good to catch 80% of the time. Other times can be quite difficult. We are clicker training her to help with this with good success. Although she can be a tense girl she is good for farrier, stable, bath, load, and travel and with traffic (if you wanted to walk out in-hand) She is very manageable and polite on the ground, despite the fact she gets a little worried sometimes.
