Pea is a beautiful young Irish Sports Horse - a super project for someone to bring on. She was bred to jump - excellent breeding, with a known history. She is athletic and full of character. We bought her as a potential eventer for my daughter, but Ella is no longer able to ride and she has no jockey. She has not had the regular consistent work she needs to complete her education. She is a good doer - lives in or out - no vices. All vacs / worming up to date. Never sick or sorry. Hacks alone and in company

  • Most suitable home and loanee/owner/sharer

Pea is a young horse, backed as a 4 yr old and has covered the basics. She needs an experienced home capable of giving her the regular consistent work she needs to complete her schooling and finish her education. She is a typical young horse - relatively easy, never strong, sometimes a bit lazy and can be bossy. She responds well to routine and consistent work and she learns quickly. She has an athletic build and will make a super all rounder for someone prepared to put in the work.

Relevant health or lameness issues

No health issues - horse is sound with all vacs / worming up to date. She has amazing feet and will be able to compete barefoot - we would like to see her kept this way. She is regularly trimmed by a barefoot trimmer and her diet is adjusted accordingly. Pea is being advertised here solely because she has a number of small sarcoids in her stifle area which any potential owner must be aware of. They cause her no discomfort, do not interfere with her use as a ridden horse.

Please describe your horses behaviour in traffic

Very good

Please describe your horses behaviour when hacking out alone and in company

Pea is a young horse who has only done the basics. She hacks out alone and in company, but can be slightly nappy leaving home on her own - nothing more than you would expect and easily managed by my teenage daughters. she is always happy to hack out with someone accompanying on foot as i usually walk the dogs while my daughters ride out

Details of any individual behavioural traits which may influence the type of person best suited to take on the horse

Can be a bit bossy and mareish but responds well and is quick to learn. Very food orientated! A really fun horse with lots of character. Her party tricks include pulling bobbles off bobble hats and undoing zips

Details of the activities that the horse must not participate in due to previous injury

none

Details of any problems when being ridden

Has an occasional buck, never malicious, just typical high spirits. She is green and has only done the basics. Can spook on a hack but is fundamentally a sensible horse. Can be lazy. Slightly nappy if hacked alone but this is only because she needs more practice.
