Milky has a fantastic character! He doesn’t have a bad bone in him & has been lovingly described as Mr Bean!! He has done many pleasure rides, been to shows inhand & ridden, done intro dressage & has been hunting a few times. He has jumped small jumps in the past, he is suited to most riders & is far from a kick along plod!

Relevant health or lameness issues

Milky has coffin joint arthritis in both front legs (right is worse) he had them injected last October & seems much better! He is sound but will not be able to do the ridden work we need him to do. He also had his hocks treated & fused in 2015, this has caused no further problems. X-rays can be provided of his front legs.

Veterinary examinations or treatment given in the past 12 months

After injections in both front legs milky is now sound and may not need any further treatment, he does need regular remedial shoeing to ensure his feet are correctly balanced, he has bar shoes fitted. He does require half a scoop of nitraquin joint supplement daily.

Please describe your horses behaviour in traffic

Very good in traffic! Including farm traffic & bikes, also used to low flying planes!!

Please describe your horses behaviour when hacking out alone and in company

Milky is very good & brave in company & on his own, never naps or spooks. He can get strong when cantering in a large group. Has cantered along the beach with 2 others & was very well behaved!

Details of any individual behavioural traits which may influence the type of person best suited to take on the horse

Milky is a very straight forward horse, he can be sensitive & doesn’t like getting into trouble, he would suit someone compassionate, calm & caring. He can be clumsy & easily distracted, so the rider would need to be balanced & keep a look out for things that may trip him up!

Details of the activities that the horse must not participate in due to previous injury

Milky would not hunt, jump or do endurance rides. Excessive schooling wouldn’t be good for him & the rider would need to be considerate & careful on hard ground.
