Rosie is an absolute delight to own. She has bought me so much joy over the years and its time she found someone who could give her the love, care and attention she deserves in her later years. She loves going out for a hack but is really looking for a quieter life where she can take it easy. Rosie is good to do day to day, load, catch, clip, shoe and loves being groomed, pampered and generally fussed over. Rosie will make a great companion horse and will hack in company or alone and the same for turn out.

  • Most suitable home and loanee/owner/sharer

The perfect owner/home for Rosie would be a loving, knowledgable and caring one. Someone who has the time to give her the attention she needs and acknowledge that she is in her later years and therefore exercise accordingly. Her competing days are well behind her now but she still has a lot to offer in other areas. She's not a novice ride and needs a competent rider, she is ridden in a snaffle.

Rosie has arthritis in her hocks. She did have them medicated in February 2017 but its not something she will need doing going forward as her work load reduces.

Please describe your horses behaviour in traffic

Rosie is generally good in traffic as she is very used to farm vehicles around the yard and whilst out hacking. Likes to have a look but as long as they pass slow and wide, she has no problem with traffic.

Please describe your horses behaviour when hacking out alone and in company

Happily hacks out alone but maybe a bit more looky than when she's out in company.

Details of any individual behavioural traits which may influence the type of person best suited to take on the horse

Can put her ears back when the girth is tightened or when eating her food but has never kicked or bitten. Just her being a bit mareish..

Details of the activities that the horse must not participate in due to previous injury

No strenuous activities due to age not injury. No jumping, xc etc.

Details of any problems when being ridden

Has never reared. Has bucked on the rare occasion but it really is rare! Once or twice since I've owned her (9 years) through excitement not malice.

Horse vaccinated annually for flu and tetanus

Yes

Need to be stabled at night?

No he can live out all year round

Need to be put on restricted grazing to limit weight gain?
