Tara is a much loved homebred mare. Only available for rehoming due to bereavement and the associated financial implications.
She is very sweet and friendly, at 10 is green for her age and can be sharp. She has a pair bond with her mum but also gets on well with other horses, tending to be dominant if others are timid but equally respectful if the others are more dominant. As yet she has not fulfilled her potential but has balanced even paces and has done some natural horsemanship training.

Is the horse in work?
No but could be brought back into work (Tara was on permanent loan to a home I thought would be forever. Sadly this turned out not to be the case. She was backed at 4 and has only been worked lightly so is really a blank canvas. Has been out of work for the last year.)

  • Most suitable home and loanee/owner/sharer

Kind, experienced, forever home only. Ideally to be kept at her new home with her companion/mum (I am fully aware that this is asking a lot and for the right person I may reconsider as long as she would be in a home environment with other horses for company). I strongly believe she would be happier in a home environment, a busy livery yard would probably be too stressful for her. Someone knowledgeable and confident preferably experienced with young/green horses.

  • Details of the tack used to ride the horse

french link bit, cavesson noseband. I don't have saddle that fits but previously had wide fitting gp.

Tara is very sweet and friendly, likes attention and is good with the farrier. She does not like being left alone in field or stable and can be quite needy for her equine friends but with time and patience will overcome this (she has before). Has travelled on both lorry and trailer, good to load on trailer and small (3.5 ton) lorry, tricky on 7.5 ton lorry.
