This is one special pony that gave my daughter every opportunity to progress and succeed on her riding journey. At 11yrs my daughter became an active member of PC teams and never failed to bring home red rosettes! Unfortunately over the last 12 months my daughter has not been able to ride due to a knee injury so this has resulted in a year off all work for her pony. A quieter life is now sought with maybe an able child or lightweight adult, within a knowledgeable experienced home.

Is the horse in work?
No but could be brought back into work (Not been in regular work since Jan 2017. Hacked out in Dec 2017 alone and with company and was perfect. I expect she could become excitable if schooled or cantered in open space until back in regular work. I do not doubt her return to perfection with work)

  • Most suitable home and loanee/owner/sharer

First and foremost a 5* loving home is a must! This pony is special and has lots to continue to give, so is totally wasted and surely bored just turned out. Therefore daily interaction (not necessarily ridden), kisses and one to one time important. A hacking home would be preferable. She will ride out alone but WILL NOT LIVE ALONE. Traffic proof, great with farrier, clip, load, catch, bath etc. She was used to an active life, PC, SJ, pleasure rides but now a quieter life is sought in a knowledgeable home.

Relevant health or lameness issues

July 2015 following a fall had injury to right fetlock, MRI, box rest and no residual problem. Happy for you to speak with our vet. This will exclude any insurance cover for the right leg. When stabled, she may be a little stiff behind (not noticeable by my eye), once warmed up this always resolves itself. Vet previously suggested Danilon every other day as stiffness is down to age not injury. We haven't felt the need to start this medication as it self resolves.

Veterinary examinations or treatment given in the past 12 months

Nil

Please describe your horses behaviour in traffic

no problem

Please describe your horses behaviour when hacking out alone and in company

no problem, will lead or follow

Details of any individual behavioural traits which may influence the type of person best suited to take on the horse

Will stress if turned out alone/brought in alone. Stands on/by lorry/trailer alone without any problem despite being 'needy' ay home.

Details of the activities that the horse must not participate in due to previous injury

I would prefer that she didn't partake in an active PC life although I'm not adverse to her attending flat work rallies or very small SJ courses as this was clearly a life that she loved. No hunting, cross country or any other equally 'full on' activities.

Explanation whether this horse is simply a good doer or whether he is prone to laminitis

no history of laminitis. I tend to keep her off grass for periods of the day during summer months as she is prone to becoming rotund!

no

Horse vaccinated annually for flu and tetanus

No
