He is a very laid back and gentle horse who respects other horses and humans around him. Tyson will stand quietly all day whether he's being groomed, having his feet done or simply having his stable done, he's no trouble at all. Tyson is looking for a home with someone who can spoil him with fuss and attention and give him the happy retirement he deserves.

  • Most suitable home and loanee/owner/sharer

Tyson has been stabled all year round for the past 6 years and therefore that is something that needs to be continued. He has always shared a field with other horses so has proved that he will make a good companion. Ideally I want someone who will look after my horse as if he were their own however due to his medical condition, Cushings, I am willing to continue paying for his tablets and vet fees related to this illness.

Relevant health or lameness issues

Tyson was diagnosed with Cushing's disease 2 years ago which is being treated with daily tablets. Since diagnosis the cushing's blood levels have not changed and there have been no other health issues that have stemmed from the cushing's. Ultimately, it is something that apart from initial diagnosis, the disease has never been an issue. Tyson has also got cataracts in his eyes which he has had for most of his life (and are quite common in TB's) and have never affected his vision.

Veterinary examinations or treatment given in the past 12 months

Tyson had investigations into stumbling and tripping whilst trotting and cantering under saddle which were inconclusive and was put down to old age. This is what led to his retirement. This was an issue that only affected him whilst being ridden and has not been an issue since his retirement.
