William is the one of the most sweetest horses I have ever met. Once he gets to know you he bonds very quickly. I believe from previous treatment he has had a bad experience with his head so at first he is nervous of strangers but once he knows you he is like a big dog and will follow you everywhere. He loves being groomed and scratched and loves as much attention as possible. His manners are wonderful and he only wants to please. He is a beautiful looking animal and so clever , he loves ground work .

  • Most suitable home and loanee/owner/sharer

As I don't think is is fair or safe to now ride William due to his stifle arthritis which in turn affects his back muscles and makes him tense and unpredictable , he would be ideally be out in a small heard as a companion. He however does love human contact and sure he would still be fine for in hand showing or agility ground work clasess and natural horsemanship , he has only ever tried to please and without his stifle arthritis would be honestly a horse in a million to ride . He is a good doer .

Relevant health or lameness issues

William has been recently diagnosed with stifle arthritis , his right stifle worse than the left, the right stifle has bony spurs in it , he has had a steroid in this stifle but still has not made his ridden work comfortable. Due to being uncomfortable he braces his back ,he has tried so hard but he is extremely sensitive to ride and if uncomfortable he rounds his back when you first get on and has then been known to buck violently , ( only twice in 18 months ) He is not comfortable to be ridden.

Veterinary examinations or treatment given in the past 12 months

Nerve blocks , conclusive to stifle lameness, x-rays both stifles and ultrasound , showing substantial arthritis with spurs irritating the ligament's , had steroid inection in right stifle . Happy and comfortable enough not being ridden and doing ground work or as a loveable pet.
