Description
Mary is a very friendly horse, easy to handle. She hacks out happily alone or with company and is 100% in traffic. She is equally happy in the school, in hand or under saddle, although the owner has mostly used her for hacking. She is easy to box, clip and shoe. The owner has long-term health problems and is seeking the right loan-home for Mary.
Problems
She doesn't have any particular problems being ridden, but she is not a novice ride. She simply requires somebody who is quietly confident and competent as a rider and handler. She is generally well-mannered and responsive to kind and firm instruction. Weight limit 12stone. She comes with saddle and bridle and some rugs.
Health Issues
- She is prone to very small lumps under the skin on her back and underneath the elbow. The vet has examined these and doesn't consider them to be an issue. They have not got progressively worse, and as long as she is kept clean and sweat-free they reduce in number.
Ideal Home
Mary needs a home where she has the company of at least one other horse for turn-out and is ridden regularly. She is very willing and genuine in her work. She needs to be stabled overnight in winter and prefers night turn-out in summer to be out of the heat of the day. Mary is not a difficult horse in any way, but she requires regular competent handling and riding.
