Jurgen is a 26 year old Arab X Dutch Warmblood gelding who sadly requires rehoming due to personal and financial reasons. Jurgen went out on loan in February 2021 however I have been messed about terribly and he is now looking for a new home through no fault of his own.
He is ridden and is forward going, snaffle mouthed. He will spook and nap when out hacking alone. Perfect to hack in company.
Must be kept with other horses in sight otherwise he becomes anxious.
Shod on fronts.
Requires hard feed in winter or as appropriate through the year to maintain weight unless you have lots of grass!
Prefers to be turned out with field shelter but can be stabled overnight.
Pulls grumpy faces when has rugs donned/doffed but has never bitten, kicked, reared, bolted etc.
Requires sedation for dental examination/treatment.
Used to compete elementary dressage level so he knows his stuff.
Excellent ground manners.
Not a novice ride due to his breeding/spooking/napping.
Up to date with vaccinations and worming.
Loves a cuddle and a pamper, he’s a lovely boy.
Thank you for reading. X
Will spook and nap when hacking alone. Easily correctable and not associated with anything nasty. Has never spun, reared, bolted, gone backwards etc. Due to his breeding Jürgen is not suitable for a novice. Jurgen will come with saddle and bridle and all rugs he could ever need.
Mild arthritis in near hind, only noticeable if he has been standing still for a prolonged period of time. One episode of heart murmur (asymptomatic) before sedation for dental exam in ?2018. No further episodes notes by vet.
Jurgen is nowhere near wanting to retire yet! Ideally a home with someone who has experience with Arabs. He happily hacks out daily and will school. He would still enjoy low level dressage or riding club activities. He will occasionally pop a small fence too. He does have a little arthritis in his near hind but this is only stiff when he has been standing still for prolonged period of time and soon eases off with movement. I am looking for a loving and caring permanent home for my gorgeous boy who sadly I can no longer keep due to financial and personal reasons (I had to re-home both of my horses which included a 7 year old so I am not wanting to re-home him just because if his age).
